by Josh Broadwell Devolver Digital and Flying Wild Hog released a new Shadow Warrior 3 trailer highlighting the 'That Damn Dam' mission and, of course, plenty of Shadow Warrior 3 's trademark gory action. While it seems like the game may lean towards the first entry in terms of inspiration, fans of the games will likely be willing to ride with anything the developer has in store. The new Shadow Warrior 3 trailer introduces a new weapon and plenty of foes to punish with it.
Game director Kuba Opoń stated that he hopes the sequel is "a homecoming for those fans that have been with us since the beginning."īoth previous Shadow Warrior adventures have been a blast in their own way, and Flying Wild Hog has proven time and again to be a solid hand in crafting amazing first-person experiences. It also states that regular series villain Orochi Zilla will be returning as Wang's sidekick, filling the straight man role that Hoji and Kamiko did in previous adventures. Dukes success as a politically-incorrect, off-the-wall shooter prompted a re-focusing of the games content. It seems that Lo Wang has accidentally released an ancient dragon into the world, forcing him to jump back into action to undo his mistakes. Shadow Warrior was in development way before Duke Nukem 3D hit the store shelves, but as evidenced by pre-Duke ads it originally was a much more 'serious' game. It had a direct sequel, Shadow Warrior: Twin Dragon and a Shadow Warrior: Wanton Destruction.
The publisher has released additional info about Shadow Warrior 3, including the basics of the plot. The Shadow Warrior series began back in 1997 with 3D Reams and GT Interactive Software’s PC game.
